Beresford

The hotel’s main evening restaurant presents a fine dining experience waited upon in Madeira tradition, of old.

Served in a choice of settings, indoors in the dinning room or winter garden and outdoors for an al fresco experience on the cobbled terrace for your perfect setting all year round,

Menus showcase local ingredients, taking inspiration from Mediterranean cuisine tempered with modern global influences.

The restaurant bears the name of General William Carr Beresford, commander of the British forces and later governor of Portugal, who took residence at the Quinta during the occupation of Madeira at the time of the Napoleonic wars, in 1807.

The large sideboard he left behind serves as reminder of his stay in the house.
